Settings, cache, and updates
Manage Vehicle Editor appearance, account details, temporary cache, diagnostic logs, and application updates.
Appearance
Choose Dark or Light. The theme is stored in local storage and applied on the next startup.
Account information
Settings displays the tier, entitlement/early-access source, expiration date or Lifetime, connected account, and Installation ID. Click the Installation ID to copy it. It is not a password, but should not be shared without a reason.
Sign Out
Sign Out asks the server to revoke the device token, removes the encrypted local token, and reloads the application. If the server request fails, the local token is still removed. Revoke the stale device through the 5mdev portal.
Clear Cache
Clear Cache removes temporary parsing and conversion files. Use it when:
- disk use has grown after many YFT/YTD/AWC operations;
- an old preview appears to persist;
- conversion fails because of temporary data.
Do not clear the cache while converting, repacking, optimizing, or decoding. The cache is neither source data nor a resource backup.
Automatic updates
At startup, the application checks 5mdev for a newer version. When available:
- a dialog displays the version and release notes;
- Later postpones it until a future check;
- Update Now downloads the installer with progress;
- the application verifies its SHA-256 against the server response;
- only a matching installer is launched;
- Vehicle Editor exits so installation can continue.
Updating requires an active device session and internet access. A hash mismatch cancels installation because the download is considered corrupted or untrusted. If automatic update fails, download the newest installer manually from the official portal.
